WHEN DID YOU GET INTO DJING?

Around 1988/89...I used to make up mixtape compilations of Dance and Rap/Hip Hop for my mates and then I got a spot with 6UVS-FM (the olf RTR-FM) playing wait for it...Speed & Death Metal. From there I started doing parties in 1991 with DJ In-E-Fekt, Mental, Manic and BPM...the birth of Teknology Corps. Although truly I suppose around 1983, when I used to play around with my parent's stereo and use a mic to tape my own home radio show...bit cheesy I know but you gotta start somewhere!!

WOULD YOU LIKE TO SHARE ANY DJING STUFF-UPS??

Well tha classic always being taking the needle off the wrong deck...did that in front of 2000+ people - does wonders for a red complexion!! Having my drink spiked at the first "Shag" party...and losing the plot big time looking at a spiral slipmat instead of playing tunes. The usual best way to cover up is to look at someone else...they always get the blame for it then!!!

WORST THING ABOUT BEING A DJ?

• The cost of all the vinyl.
• Dealing with incompetent record shops + their staff for ordering your tracks and then they don't hold them!
• Crap decks when playing live...ie you go to scratch and it jumps cos the decks are badly aligned/balanced.
• People spilling drinks/ashing on your tunes, or bumping the needle in the middle of a mix.
• Getting hassles from your girlfriend that you don't pay her enough attention!!
• Getting some wicked tunes before any other DJ's and then not getting a gig until everyone in town (including your mum) is playing it.
• Going deaf!
• What did you say? 8-)

Producing music full-time, running my own label and pushing the fields of dance music to bigger and better things. Running my own 24-hour Old School/HaRdCoRe radio station...pushing Rave/HaRdCoRe into the houses of the masses!!!

DREAM BOOKING?

Hmm I think every DJ should play to a 30,000 strong crowd once in a liftime...so a time machine and a spot at Fantazia "Castle Donington" or "Summertime" '92 cheers.

WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

• Write tunes for the P.A.(Fanatik).
• Work as a Web Programmer/Network Administrator.
• Finishing my Multimedia degree.
• Update my web pages http://rave.space.net.au/ (plug plug!!).
• Run amok with tha boys.
• Run an international flyer swap centre.
• (Used to) Write for Eternity Magazine(UK) - till they went bankrupt.
• In other words...I don't have any spare time!!!!

• The vibe, buzz whatever you wanna call it.
• 'The Hunt' - Getting tunes others don't have.
• Barcards

• I won't say the MOST bizarre for legal reasons, but...to autograph a girl's bra at Desert Storm.
• Being asked by one guy if I "had any Hardcore" when I was playing 200bpm+
• Having a request for "any Pearl Jam" at 'Bassquake' by a Bogan bird.
• Kicked off early for playing "too hard" at a certain (unnamed) yuppie club when dropping a 120bpm '91 House track.
• The list goes on...

Once the "mafia element" was out...for bigger and better things...as long as promoters work together, and punters support the parties they always complain don't happen regularly enough!!! The scene needs to be rebuilt and this is happening slowly...support your underground, people or forever live in the shadows of commercial crap!!!
